Kicks and Jabs

This past weekend, I was laying down on my parent's couch and "BAM". I think an elbow or heal punched me from the inside. It made me interupt the conversation to say, "Woah! What was that?" Since then I have been getting beat up from the inside. Those little bumps I was feeling has turned into jabs. Preston is being a little stinker. I'm even being woken up in the middle of the night with him poking and bumping. I can't believe I'm going to have to put up with this abuse for a little over 2 more months!
Well, I'm getting bigger and bigger by the minute. It seems like once Christmas was over the basketball inflated to double it's size. It must be true that boys are carried like a basketball because that's what it looks like to me. It kind of gets in the way when I'm trying to do stuff. It makes it hard to shave my legs unless I'm in the bath and I don't enjoy bending over to tie my shoe.
I went to the doctor again this past Thursday to take the glucose test and thyroid panel. I haven't gotten my results back, but we are praying everything will be fine. I'll go back to the doctor the first week of February to have another sonogram. I look forward to seeing what he looks like (I'm sure his daddy). Preston is close to 2.5 lbs. and probably measuring close to 15 inches long! I didn't know babies would get so long and then start putting on fat toward the end. When I was born I was 17 inches long so I was surprised he would be so big already.
The 'excitement' for this week is that there are 15 cases of chicken pox going throughout the school. I've either worked with or been around most of the kids within the last few weeks. All of the kids have had the vaccination shot and are still getting it. I had my vaccination shot when I was 15 when it came out in 1995 because I never had chicken pox when growing up. There is suppose to be a booster shot that I didn't know about till this year...and too late for that now. I'm just praying praying that my antiboties are high enough to be fully immune to it. I guess I'll find out soon enough.

Island Toile/ Blue Aloha

Some of you may have heard about my baby bedding experience, so I thought I'd make it my new background and show a few pictures of the print. Hopefully, soon we'll be getting Preston's room together. It will be in a tropical theme with red, baby blue, blue and green as my main colors. Right now, we are just trying to 'clear' it out.
Quick story, for those who haven't heard it... Before I knew I was pregnant, I was looking through a Pottery Barn Kids Catalog. I saw this print (on sale!!) and thought it was so cute and different. I like things that are different, but still pretty classic. When I found out I was pregnant, I started looking for this print on-line....no where to be found!! I checked ebay and it was double the price from the catalog because it had been discontinued. I was so sad. A few days before we were to find out the sex of the baby, we were in the mall and I asked Dustin if we could just stop in PBK to check to see if they just had a sheet or something from this print. They actually had a pillow case. After talking to them more, they were able to locate all the other bedding that I wanted from other stores from Houston to Scottsdale, AZ. Not only were we blessed to find these items, they were super duper CHEAP since each place only had a few of each item. It was such a God thing!! We would have never been able to afford much more than a sheet and pillowcase if these items hadn't been on sale for being discontinued. I was a little scared after we finalized the deal with PBK, that evening, because I knew we would probably find out we were having a girl and I wouldn't be able to use this bedding for several years. I was very excited to find out that we were having a boy...for more reasons than one.

Pups with Personality!

Of-course we have our little babies named. Let me introduce them all to you.
This is TJ (Tanner Junior; after his daddy). TJ is a sweetheart! He loves to be held. He and his sister are the smallest from the bunch. We had to give them extra attention when we were bottle feeding the pups because they were so little and didn't want to eat much.

This is my baby girl Runtly. She is the only pup that made it from the preemie litter. She is a mess. I guess since she is so much smaller than her brothers, she has to make up for it in being a fighter. She tries so hard to keep up with the others. They are all learning to walk right now and she is not going to let her big bros. pass her up. Even though she falls a lot, she makes it to her destination, eventually. She loves to crawl on top of the whole bunch to sleep.

This is Rolo. In the beginning, he was a little chunk so we called him a little Rolly Polly which has turned to Rolo. Rolo is known for laying on his back to sleep. If he doesn't watch out, the other will crawl up on him and pin him down on his back.

This is Lil' Dip. Dustin and I thought of a dipped ice-cream cone when we saw him. His whole head is black with a little white for a beard. Dip is so content to be held. He's going to make a great lap dog.

This is Pepper. He is colored up so pretty. He makes me think of the dog Beethoven. He has turned out to be the little chunk. He was our smallest black/white pup out of the five, but he's been a fighter when it's come to meal time. He has been the one to introduce the playful growl to the rest of the bunch. He loves to play...climbing, chewing (no teeth, yet), and growling.

Sleepy Heads

Here are my babies' three week old pictures. As you can tell, they are very sleepy. This week they have started staggering to their feet and attempting to walk a few steps before toppling over. Also, they are really getting their personality. They have started growling playfully and chewing on each other.

Week and a Half Old Pups

As you can tell, my pride and joy, at the moment, are these sweet puppies. I have enjoyed taking care of them over the Christmas break. I wish I could just stay home with them a little bit longer. I'm very attached and want to keep every one of them. These are their pictures around Christmas. See how much they've grown in just a little over a weeks time. I'll post more recent pictures soon.
